About The CarBar

Hi, I’m Pami Raaymakers, and welcome to The CarBar—a place where passion for classic cars meets the heart of Sarnia. The story of The CarBar began back in 2012, when my late husband, Marty, had a vision: to create a space where car enthusiasts could come together and celebrate their love for automobiles and the love of Sarnia.

What started as a humble transformation of once was Sarnia Hydro &  the old Carpet Liquidators building into a space for cars. This building  quickly turned into something much bigger. After months of hard work, renovations, and dedication, the space was finally ready. But the magic really happened one afternoon when Marty and I we chatting about what to name the space. Our then-6-year-old grandson, Aiden, looked up to us and said “Well, there’s a bar, and there are cars here—how about The CarBar?” And just like that, the name was born—and so was the heart of our community.

Over the years, The CarBar has become much more than just a spot for car enthusiasts. It’s a venue for amazing events, including the Steve Stamkos Jersey Retirement Party, Rick Mercer meet-and-greets, and hundreds of charity and personal celebrations. It's a place where memories are made, friendships are formed, and where the community comes together to share in their love of cars, memorabilia, and life’s milestones.

Now, with my new partner Dave by my side, we continue to carry forward Marty’s dream. Together, we’re committed to growing and evolving The CarBar into an even more vibrant and welcoming space for everyone. What started as a vision in 2012 is now a local treasure—an evolving Sarnia secret that we’re proud to share with all of you.
